Gravity’s Ultimate Brew Guide:

Coffee with Musical Undertones

Welcome to Gravity’s Ultimate Brew Guide! Just like a perfect symphony, making an exceptional cup of coffee requires the right notes, timing, and a bit of passion. Whether you’re a coffee novice or a seasoned barista, follow these easy steps to brew a cup that hits all the right notes.

  • The Melody of Your Coffee

    Choose Your Beans

Every great coffee starts with the beans. Our freshly roasted
Gravity beans are crafted to create a harmony of flavors.

Choose a roast that speaks to you – whether it's our medium roast “Best I Ever Had” espresso blend or our light roast filter “Yellow”.

  • Finding the Right Pitch

    Grind

Grinding your beans is like tuning your instrument. Too coarse, and the flavor falls flat; too fine, and it can get bitter. For a balanced cup:

French Press: Coarse, like sea salt.

    Aeropress: Medium-fine, like table salt.

    Moka Pot: Medium, like sand.

    Chemex: Medium-coarse, like kosher salt.

  • The Rhythm of Brewing

    Water

Water quality and temperature set the tempo. If possible, use
filtered water heated to around 200°F (93°C) – just below boiling.

This ensures optimal extraction, bringing out the best in your beans.

Brew Methods

  • French Press

    1. Add 28g of coarse coffee for every 330-440 grams of water depending on how strong you like your brew. (Ratio of 1:12/1:16)
    2. Pour hot water over the grounds, stir, and let it steep for 4 minutes.
    3. Press the plunger down slowly and evenly.
  • Aeropress

    1. Insert a paper filter into the Aeropress cap and rinse with hot water.
    2. Add 16g of medium-fine ground coffee into the chamber.
    3. Place the Aeropress on to the top of your coffee mug and pour in hot water up to the top of the chamber, stir gently and place the plunger on top.
    4. Let it steep for 1 to 1.5 minutes.
    5. Press down slowly and evenly until the plunger reaches the bottom of the chamber
  • Moka Pot

    1. Fill the bottom chamber with hot water up to the bottom of the safety valve.
    2. Fill the filter basket with medium ground coffee and level it off without packing it down.
    3. Assemble the Moka Pot and place it on medium heat.
    4. Remove from heat once you hear a gurgling or hissing sound, indicating that the coffee is ready. Run the bottom of the pot under cold water to stop the brewing process.
  • Chemex

  • Fine-Tuning Your Brew

    Pro Tips

Consistency is Key: Use a scale to measure your coffee and water for the perfect ratio every time.

Freshness Matters: Store your beans in an airtight container, away from light and heat. Grind right before brewing.

Play Around: Don’t be afraid to adjust grind size, water temperature, or brew time to find your perfect cup.
